SEVEN YEARS OF CRITICAL CHANGES!
Welcome to my homepage and my story about the fight against ADD/ADHD. If you've
accessed this page then you might be a parent of a child with A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. and
you're seeking a little relief. As a parent of an A.D.H.D. child, I have survived
the struggle of learning new parenting techniques, reward solutions and discipline
procedures.
I began research on the A.D.D./A.D.H.D. dilemma after spending more time in school than my
son did when he was in kindergarten. James, my son, is now 11 years old and doing much
better. My research opened a whole new world to me, I realized I had not
"failed" as a parent, nor was I "spoiling or ruining" my son.
None of my "traditional" parenting skills were effective and we didn't even have
time to catch our breath before another level of frustration was beginning.
In the past 7 years I have attended numerous educational seminars, held educational
workshops, children's' workshops, and begun an Advocacy program for the parent &
school relationship, and I can even work outside of the home without kicking myself
because of the horrible struggle of HOMEWORK!

HOBBIES and SPECIAL
INTERESTS
Our family does well with
camping, fishing, boating~basically anything outdoorsy for our son is GREAT! He
needs that opportunity to run and exert his "extra energy", it permits him to
sleep better at night.
On a personal level, I
enjoy reading Stephen King novels, working on computers, researching new ideas and
suggestions to improve my sons' life and our family's quality of life, and taking
advantage of every quiet moment I can catch.
